Major projects undertaken by CSI include
NSW BreastScreen Information System
The BIS was commissioned by BreastScreen NSW to replace the nine independent clinical information systems operating at the time at each of the regional screening services. The system was initially developed over five years and was rolled out at the first service in May 2003. Major features of the system include the use of a unique state-wide client id while maintaining the legacy service-specific patient ids; an implementation of a state-wide electronic health record; fully flexible clinical data items that can be modified without requiring a software update; a generic design that allows various software configurations to suit differing service requirements; and fully automatic data synchronisation between 40 on-line databases state-wide using replication technology.
Alarm Monitoring System
A prototype alarm panel monitoring solution for ARA Security Services was re-architected/re-designed to utilise CSI's solid multi-tier multi-threaded framework with its efficient inter-process communication protocol. This brought benefits to the applications such as increased reliability, improved performance, and simpler configuration and maintenance. CSI is currently incorporating the latest version of the framework into the system to further enhance reliability and performance and to enable future development of the system to handle centralised configuration and cross-platform development in C#.
File Synchronisation System
CSI has developed (using the CSI framework) a distributed file synchronisation/distribution system for corporate and development environments capable of transferring very large files (10 GB +) and very large numbers of files (100,000 +). At this stage the system is used both internally and by several clients, and in the future it may be offered as a service for corporate entities similar to Drop Box. All file transfers are performed using a custom file transfer service which is also incorporated into other framework-based applications to provide binary updates, log shipping, and any other file distribution requirements.
